Library Dedications in Appreciation to Class of 2015 Graduates

They work at the Library as early as 7:30 a.m. and as late as 2:00 a.m. During finals, they’re even here between 2 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Filling printers with paper, processing new books, and assisting library users are just a few of their responsibilities. Who are these people? They are your fellow Falcons who work at the Bentley Library.

As a small token of thanks, we ask our seniors to select a book or film, which is then affixed with a bookplate in their name.

This year, dedications have been made on behalf of these Class of 2015 graduates:

5 New Things at the Library

Welcome back from spring break! As you settle back into the routine of classes, campus activities and studying, we would like to draw your attention to five new technology, equipment and website additions at the library. We want to make your library experiences – from charging your smartphone to identifying the location of a book in the stacks – a little bit easier.

Many of these items were implemented in response to feedback received during 14 Days to Have Your Say!, but we welcome suggestions at any time. Email library@bentley.edu or use the Contact Us form to tell us how we can improve the library.

1. USB charging outlets have been installed in the atrium outside the art gallery.

2. StackMap has been integrated with Encore (classic catalog integration is coming soon). Click the “Map It!” button to pinpoint the exact physical location of books, DVDs, audiobooks and periodicals in the library.

Library Welcomes Jaimie Fritz, Project Archivist

As Bentley University prepares for its Centennial celebration in 2017, Bentley Library welcomes Jaimie Fritz as our Project Archivist to organize the archives associated with the University. Jaimie comes to us from the MIT Library most recently, and before that, the Schlesinger Library at Harvard. She is very excited to help us prepare for our centennial celebration, and brings the organizational and technical skills necessary to make it a success. Jaimie received her MS in Library and Information Science (with a Concentration in Archives Management) from Simmons College, and has an undergraduate degree in English Language and Literature from Smith College.

Over the next year, Jaimie will be inventorying and organizing our archives. She’ll also be creating digital exhibits around important events in Bentley history: the founding of the College, the move to Waltham, and more.
