Scheduled Wireless Network Outage: December 19th – 23rd

alertDue to scheduled network equipment upgrades, the wireless network in the library will not be accessible Friday, December 19 – Tuesday, December 23.  

Library patrons will be able to access the internet using the library’s public computers or by connecting their laptop to the wired network with an ethernet cable.  Ethernet cables will be available to borrow at the Computing Services Help Desk and the Library Services Desk.

The staff of the Bentley Library thanks everyone who submitted comments and suggestions during 14 Days to Have Your Say! During the 14 Days period, library staff refrained from commenting in order to encourage a free and open discussion, but rest assured, every post and comment has been examined.

24-Hour Access for Final Exams Begins Monday, December 8th

night-owlThis semester the library’s 24-hour access for final exams begins at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, December 8 (the day before Reading Day) and ends at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 18 (the last day of exams).

*Please note the weekend exception: The library closes at 9:00 p.m. Saturday night and reopens at 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning, because everyone should take a little break from studying!

Monday, December 8  – Saturday, December 13:
24 hour access
Open at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, December 9 and remain open
until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13

*Saturday, December 13:
Close at 9:00 p.m.

Sunday, December 14 – Thursday, December 18:
24 hour access
Open at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 14 and remain open
until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 18

What to expect:

  • Reference services will not be available during the extended hours.
  • All patrons in the building at 2:00 a.m. will be required to show a Bentley ID in order to remain in the building.
  • Patrons entering the library after 2:00 a.m. must enter via the front entrance and will need to show their Bentley ID upon entry.

Thanksgiving Holiday Hours From Tuesday 11/25 to Sunday 11/30

Holiday hours will be in effect at the Bentley Library from Tuesday, November 25 through Sunday, November 30:

Tuesday, November 25:
7:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Wednesday, November 26 – Saturday, November 29:
Closed — Happy Thanksgiving!

Sunday, November 30:
1:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.

Please note that the Deloitte Café (Einstein’s) closes at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, and reopens at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, December 1.

Database of the Month: Mintel Reports

Database Features

Using primary and secondary data sources, Mintel publishes more than 600 market research and consumer lifestyle reports in the Beauty & Personal Care; Food & Drink; Financial Services; Health & Wellbeing; Household Goods; Lifestyles; Retail & Apparel; Technology & Media; and Travel sectors.

Mintel helps researchers understand customers, markets and product usage by providing:

  • market sizes, shares and forecasts
  • market drivers and performance
  • consumer demographics, attitudes and behaviors
  • consumer trends and their business implications

  • leading companies, brand profiles and brand share

To use the Mintel Reports database you must register for an account using a Bentley email address. At the Mintel Reports log-in page, first-time users should click on [Create a Personal Profile]. Complete the registration form using your Bentley email address.
