The Bentley Library is offering a workshop to help students find and identify quality sources.

Highlighted tools and resources include:

  • The Library’s “Journal Finder”
  • Ulrichsweb Global Serials Directory
  • Browzine

You have two opportunities to attend:

Tuesday, October 6th, 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.

Wednesday, October 7th, 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.

Both workshops take place in the library’s Research Instruction Center (RIC), Room 11, on the lower level of the library.

Since seating is limited, please register by sending an e-mail to library@bentley.edu indicating which day you prefer.

“I just need three sources by tomorrow” – a research workshop.

Bring whatever you are working on and get immediate expert assistance in finding the information you need, whether it be articles, statistics, company information, or books. You will walk away with the source or two (or three) that you need!

You have two opportunities to attend this week:

  • Monday, April 6th – 2pm-3pm
  • Wednesday, April 8th – 1pm-2pm

(No RSVP necessary; come in anytime during the hour)

These sessions will take place in the Research Instruction Center (Room 11) located on the library’s lower level. (Coffee, Tea & Snacks are available).

The Bentley Library invites faculty to: Creating Static Links to ProQuest, EBSCOHost & JSTOR Articles

When:  Wednesday, November 12, 2014, 12:45 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Where:  Research Instruction Center (RIC), Library Lower Level, Room 011

The EBSCOHost, ProQuest, and JSTOR databases all offer “persistent” or static links to articles that can be accessed for several years. Attendees will learn how to create durable links to articles with the comfort of knowing that copyright permission and royalties have been taken care of by Bentley’s site licenses to these databases.  This workshop will show users how to create links to articles and use them in Blackboard course websites, online bibliographies, and personal websites.  Workshop attendees will also learn how to make links available to off-campus students.

Bentley Library Workshop for Faculty: EndNote X7

The Bentley Library invites faculty to an EndNote X7 workshop:

Date and Time: Wednesday, November 5, 2014, 12:45 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.

Location: Research Instruction Center (RIC), Ground Floor of the Library, Room 011

EndNote X7 is the most recent version of the popular EndNote bibliographic citation management tool. The Bentley University Library provides faculty and students with Mac and Windows versions of EndNote X7. This workshop will cover EndNote basics, including direct import, managing Endnote libraries, and the selection of import filters and output styles. Users of earlier versions of EndNote are welcome to attend and see what is new with X7.

Get a Jumpstart on Papers: Learn RefWorks Now!

The Bentley Library is offering a workshop for students about RefWorks. RefWorks is a tool that creates bibliographies and formats research papers in the citation style of your choice (e.g. APA, MLA). Learn to export citations, create bibliographies, and save and organize sources for all your research papers and projects – all in one place. Have sources you’re not sure how to cite? Bring them with you and we’ll help you get them right.

You have three opportunities to attend:

Monday, October 20, 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Tuesday, October 21, 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Wednesday, October 22, 1:00 p.m. –  2:00 p.m.

All workshops take place in the library’s Research Instruction Center (RIC), Room 11, on the lower level of the library.

We also strongly recommend that you “Sign up for a New Account” before coming to the workshop – you can do so at the RefWorks’ website. This works best when you are on campus.
