Library Hours for Spring 2019

We hope you had a great winter break, Falcons! Ready to hit the books again? The library’s regular spring semester hours start Monday, January 14, 2019:

Sunday
10:00 a.m. – 2:00 a.m.

Monday – Thursday
7:30 a.m. – 2:00 a.m.

Friday
7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Saturday
10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

You can view the library, café, and Help Desk hours for the entire semester in our hours calendar. Please note that our hours will change during the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend, Spring Break, and the Patriots’ Day holiday weekend.

During the winter months the library’s hours may be impacted by inclement weather. When the University is closed for weather, so is the library. If the library needs to make an emergency closing outside of “regular” university hours (late at night or on the weekend), we will make announcements on our social media channels and via email. On Display: Best Books of 2018

Happy New Year! Here at the library we are celebrating the arrival of 2019 and the 10th anniversary of our annual “best books” display!

Back in January of 2009 we thought it would be fun to comb through multiple year-end “best of” lists to put together a display of the previous year’s top fiction and nonfiction titles. Thus began an annual tradition, and here we are ten years later…

This year we examined 17 unique review sources* to bring you a display of 100+ books and audiobooks. As always, you’ll find titles by popular authors who regularly land on the bestseller lists, as well as books from outside the spotlight that are worthy of your attention. The common denominator is that they have all been hailed as the best of 2018’s publishing.

Please take some time to visit the library’s lobby or browse the items online in our catalog. Many of these books are also available as downloadable eBooks and audiobooks via the library’s OverDrive digital collection.

If you don’t see anything of interest at first glance, keep checking back. As new acquisitions arrive and currently checked-out books are returned we will add more books to the display. Happy browsing!

The library’s hours will be extended during wintersession classes, Monday, January 7 – Friday, January 11, 2019:

8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Friday, January 11:
8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Saturday, January 12 and Sunday, January 13

Please note that the Deloitte Cafe (Einstein’s) is closed until Monday, January 14.

New Books, DVDs, and Audiobooks Acquired in December

Looking for a good book or movie to enjoy while on winter break? Check out the library’s newest acquisitions! Go to the New Books & DVDs page to browse the new arrivals by subject or format. When you see something you want, click the “Request” button to place a hold on it.

If you’re off-campus you can use the OverDrive app to download ebooks and digital audiobooks to your computer or mobile device, or read/listen to books online in your browser via the library’s OverDrive site.  For help using OverDrive, view their Getting Started page or visit the Reference Desk for personal assistance.

The Bentley Library is closed evenings and weekends when classes are not in session. The library’s hours for the period of January 2 – January 6, 2019, are:

Wednesday, January 2 – Thursday, January 3:
8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Friday, January 4:
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Saturday, January 5 & Sunday, January 6:
CLOSED

Winter Break Closing: December 21 - January 1

Final exams are coming to an end, which means our hours will change for the last two days of operation before winter break. The library will close at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19 (the last day of exams). We will be open 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 20.

Bentley University and the Bentley Library are closed for Winter Break Friday, December 21, 2018, through Tuesday, January 1, 2019. The library will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 2.
