Library Closed Saturday, January 17th – Monday, January 19th

In addition to being closed this weekend (Saturday, January 17 and Sunday, January 18), the library will be closed on Monday, January 19, in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.

The library reopens on Tuesday, January 20, at 7:30 a.m. and will begin regular semester hours that day. For more information about the library’s hours please view the online hours calendar.

On Display: Best Books of 2014

Happy New Year and welcome to the library’s 6th annual best books display! This year we have consulted eighteen* best books lists to bring you the Best Books of 2014.

Best Books of 2014More than 150 books and audiobooks are currently on display, with additional titles being added as they are acquired and returned. Many of these books are not only available in hardcopy and CD/Playaway formats, but also as eBooks and mp3 audiobooks via the library’s OverDrive digital collection.

The display includes bestselling fiction and nonfiction books that have garnered much publicity, as well as books that are critically acclaimed but may not have received mainstream attention. Does that pique your interest? Stop by the lobby to browse.

The library’s hours will be extended for wintersession classes, Monday, January 12 – Friday, January 16, 2015:

8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Friday, January 16:
8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Saturday, January 17 – Monday, January  19 (holiday):
CLOSED

The library will resume regular semester hours on Tuesday, January 20.

The new acquisitions lists for the month of December have been posted. View the books, movies, TV shows, audiobooks and OverDrive downloadable books added to library’s collection last month.

If you find a book, DVD or audiobook you’d like to borrow, click the [REQUEST] button to log-in and place a hold. Visit OverDrive to download new eBooks and mp3 audiobooks to your mobile device.

The Bentley Library is closed evenings and weekends when classes are not in session. The library’s hours for the period of January 5 – January 11, 2015, are:

Monday, January 5 Thursday, January 8:
8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Friday, January 9:
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Saturday, January 10 & Sunday, January 11:
CLOSED

Hours will change when Wintersession classes begin on Monday, January 12.

Before you make a purchase from Amazon or Audible, take a look at the Bentley Library’s OverDrive downloadable book collection, which is currently stocked with more than 1,700 downloadable eBooks and audiobooks. You will find fiction and nonfiction new releases, bestsellers, award winners, classic literature and perennial favorites to read for pleasure or for class.Click to go to OverDrive

Best of all, it’s free for current Bentley students, faculty and staff. Log-in to OverDrive at  http://bentleydownload.lib.overdrive.com/ using a Bentley email address and password. New titles are added monthly, so check back often.

OverDrive eBooks and audiobooks can be enjoyed on all major computers and mobile devices, including iPhone®, iPad®, NOOK®, Android™ phones and tablets, and Kindle®. Many eBooks can be also read immediately (no download required) on any device with an internet browser. Bentley users may checkout up to five OverDrive titles at a time for a borrowing period of 21 days. Titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period, so there are no late fees!
