Introduction to Stata

STATA is one of the most popular statistical applications with power capabilities to perform micro- and macroeconometric analyses, multilevel modelling (HLM), structural equation models, Bayesian analysis and multiple imputation of missing data. In this workshop we will examine ways to analyze data using both the windows GUI environment as well as through programming codes. Topics to be covered includes the powerful means by which STATA can import and export data from and to multiple formats easily, different means of inspecting data and storing results. We will also sketch bar graphs, scatter plots and boxplots. If time allows, we will also introduce duration models (nonparametric cox proportional hazards and parametric models).
